Hands On History - Clallam County
Our 2019 Hands on History program participants.
Hands on History - Clallam County is the scholarship program of the North Olympic History Center for students in 6th through 12th grades. In this program, students choose a subject of local history to research, write a paper to scholarly standards, and make a tri-panel presentation board which is then displayed at an event where the public is invited to ask the students about their project. The best work is awarded scholarships which are held in escrow pending attendance at a college or trade school. Coaching in research and report writing are provided by NOHC staff.
School year 2019-20 is the third year of this program. Links to the forms below will be updated for school year 2020-21 in late summer. But it is not too early to learn about details of the program select a research topic, and begin research.
We look forward to learning more of our county's history with you!
